Obituary from The Bienville Democrat Sept. 28, 1944:

Mrs. A.M. Caldwell, age 72 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.C. Harrison last Wednesday, September 20 at 1:0 p.m. following an illness of a year and six months. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at three o’clock at the Liberty Hill Baptist church and were conducted by Chaplain Capt. N.L. Robinson of Camp Claiborne, assisted by Rev. Curtis Jones of Bienville, Rev. B.A. Miley of Arcadia, and the Rev. Bennett of Bastrop. Interment was had in the Liberty Hill cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of Conger Funeral Home of Arcadia. Pallbearers were O.D. Harrison, Sessions fore, Archie Loe, Guy Campbell, Reese Woods, Elmer Shively, Charley Hays, and E.D. Jones.

Deceased is survived by her husband, A.M. Caldwell; four daughters, Mrs. W.C. Harrison and Mrs. C.W. Loe of Liberty Hill, Mrs. Clyde Tanner of Cheneyville, and Mrs. Newt Dalton of Bastrop; five sons, W.C. Caldwell of Liberty Hill, Rev. C.W. Caldwell of Fordyce, Ark., Gordon and Murray Caldwell of Shreveport, and Artis Caldwell of Monroe; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Lola Loe of Liberty Hill and Mrs. Willie Wedgeworth of Arcadia; one brother, J.N. Smelley of Arcadia. Mrs. Caldwell was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist church since her early childhood.
