She was born on February 5, 1919 in Superior to Arthur and Rose (Walczak) Koehler.
She was a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at its Altar Society of which she was a past president and a member and past officer of the East End Senior Citizens Center.
Sis worked as a waitress and cook for various restaurants for many years and she ran the concession stand at the golf course for several years.
She enjoyed hand embroidery, card playing and bingo. She was well known for her homemade popcorn balls.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Sandra Hughes) Amundson, Topeka, KS, Richard "Rick" (Lynn) Amundson, Omaha, NE; five daughters, Roberta "Bobbe Jean" (John "Jack") Peterson, Gail (Robert "Bob") Erdman, Dolores "Lorie" (Dennis) Frink and Arlene Osterlund, all of Superior and Patricia "Patty" (Duane) Timo, Duluth, MN; daughter-in-law, Margaret Amundson, Lake Nebagamon, WI, 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren,; three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold "Arnie" on May 11, 1999; her son James "Jim" on January 21, 2014 , four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with a Scripture Service scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Visitation will continue at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski, as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sis's grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
