She was a lifelong Grand Ledge resident and retired from Grand Ledge High School where she worked in food service. She was a life member and past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Cole-Briggs Post #48), and member of Grand Ledge Lioness Club.
Dilly is survived by sons Roger (Sandy), and Doug (Aimee Brooks) and daughter Norma (Bob) Trommater, grandchildren Lauri (Kurt) Deuel, Tammy Love, Jody (Randy) Seida, Mike (Tina Hayes) Love, Jeff Trommater, Joe (Sarah) Trommater, Jordan (Joshua) Best, and Kelly Love, 7 great grandchildren, sisters Anna Olds and Lavida Cundiff, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Norman in 1987 whom she married in 1942, brother and sister-in-law Victor (Marie) Preston, sisters Gina Simmons, and Dorothy Sollid, and one great granddaughter.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of dancing, animals, sewing, drawing, cooking and the love and care she bestowed on her family.
A Vigil was hald. A Funeral Mass was held Friday, August 26, 2011, at St. Michael Catholic Church Grand Ledge, with Rev. Fr. James Eisele, as Celebrant.
