Sadoc Musser Martin was the 4th generation of Martins to begin farming on the Spring Isaac Martin Farm. He battled tuberculosis and died at the young age of 25, leaving a widow with 3 small children. 3 of Sadoc's 4 siblings died even younger than he did. (The only remaining sibling, Eli M. Martin, the father of South America Elmer Martin, lived to age 49 and helped to organize The Enterprise Telephone Company and New Holland Machine Company.)
