Mrs. Margie Juanita Watkins passed away on August 8th at the Dyersburg Regional Medical Center in Dyersburg at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 27 days.
Margie was born on April 11, 1922 in Hayti to John Pitts Brumley and Minnie Lee Dycus Brumley. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, George Vernon Watkins on October 14, 1937 in Kennett.
Margie attended school in Pemiscot county. She was of the Catholic Faith and was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caruthersville. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her children and her husband and was also the book keeper for her husbands business.
Margie is survived by her sons, Bill Watkins and his wife Mary Ellen and Mike Watkins and his fiance Maybell Rece, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a niece, Janet Brumley, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceding Margie in death was her husband of forty six years, George Vernon Watkins, her parents, John and Minnie Brumley, three brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Watkins were Christopher Watkins, William Watkins, Taylor Watkins, Alan Wadley, Sean Watkins and Shannon Watkins.
Visitation for Mrs. Watkins was Tuesday, August 9th, in the Chapel at H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville. Funeral Mass was Wednesday, August 10 at H.S. Smith with Father Allen Saunders presiding. Entombment was in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
H.S. Smith was in charge of the arrangements.
