Jonathan Robert Carmack died before 1900 along with Pell's two younger brothers, Ossie and Jessie. Pell's mother, Martha, and his younger sister, Amie Estella Carmack, moved to Texas to live with Martha's brother after his father died. Amie married George Alvin Lee July 21, 1901 in Lampass County, Texas and had six children, and was expecting her seventh child when she died from an accident on September 15, 1916 in Logan, near San Jon, Quay County, New Mexico.
Pell married Nannie McClanahan about 1908. By this time Martha Carmack was living with Pell and Nannie in Scurry County, Texas where they were listed in the 1910 census. They moved from Scurry County, Texas to Maricopa County, Arizona where they were listed in the 1920 and 1930 census living in Maricopa Co., Az. along with his mother, who resided with them until her death.
Pell and Nannie did not have any children.
