Mrs. Nora Allmond Bailey, age 73, of Rt. 1, Vidalia, Ga., died at Meadows Memorial Hospital Saturday, August 20, 1983 following a brief illness.


The Montgomery County native was a lifelong resident of that county and was the daughter of the late Emerson Foote and Mary Leulla "Mollie" Hamilton Allmond. She was of the Baptist faith.


Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey were held Monday, August 22, 1981 at 3:00 p.m. from Murchison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John P. Quattlebaum officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dale Fincher. Interment followed in Pinecrest Cemetery. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.


She was the widow of the late James B. Bailey, and is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Qunnell Thigpen, Griffin, Miss Mary Ruth Bailey, Vidalia, Mrs. Joyce Upright, Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Wynoka George, Lyons; one son, James Edward Bailey, Atlanta; two brothers, T.R. Allmond, Higgston and C.W. Allmond, Swainsboro; two step-sons, J.W.Bailey and C.M.Bailey of Vidalia; 7 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers were William Braddy, Royal Sullivan, Clay Warnock, Douglas Morris, Glenn Mixon, and Gary Blocker.
