Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Albert Gotfred Carlson, 72 resident of the Maple Ridge Township since 1930, who died unexpectedly Tuesday Oct 21st in the Braham Community Hospital. In failing health for several months, he had been hospitalized here one week.
The last rites were conducted at Salem Lutheran Church, Dalbo by Rev Ralph A Nelson and interment was at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Cemetery at Center City, Mrs. Ben Olson sang at the church services, accompanied by organist, Mrs. Oscar Johnson and sang one number at the graveside also.
Leroy Holmgren, Edwin Krafve, Walter Krafve, Carl Lundahl, Hilding Olson and Emil Wenberg were pallbearers.
Mr. Carlson was born April 9, 1880 in Smaland, Sweden and there was baptized in infancy. Mr. Carlson attended school at Shafer and was confirmed at Center City at the Lutheran church.
While employed in St Paul he was married February 27, 1915 to Anna Pearson. The couple continued living in St Paul until moving to their present home at Maple Ridge.
Besides his wife, Mr. Carlson is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Anna Liljenberg of Almelund, Mrs. Emil Gustafson (Freda) of Center City and Mrs Hilma Swenson of St Paul, also several nephews and nieces and other relatives.
He was a member of Salem church and of Engelbreki Lodge 1940, Order of Vasa in St Paul.
