The document verifies that Joseph Reid, son of Dempsey and Eliza Griffin, was baptized on November 30, 1856. The sponsors for the child were Richard I. Manning and Mrs. E. P. Manning. The minister was Reverend E. Reed. This publication also verifies his date of birth as July 26, 1856. The publication is in my collection of genealogical publications for my Griffin family and is available at the Sumter County Historical Society Library.
