He was born June 1, 1910, in Parker, Idaho, to William Leslie and Margaret Elizabeth Jenkins Hunter.

He married his sweetheart, Maurine Evans, on Dec. 7, 1942, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on August 20, 1955.

He was an active high priest in the LDS Church where he also served as a Sunday school superintendent, ward clerk, and as an officiator in the Salt Lake Temple. He was president of the Golden Agers Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Air Force Association.

He served in World War II achieving rank of Major. He was the commanding officer of a postal unit in England and France. He graduated from the University of Utah. His professional career included service as an Internal Revenue Service agent and Utah bank examiner. He enjoyed reading, the outdoors, genealogy, dancing, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was proud of his pioneer heritage. The love of his family was of paramount importance to him, always sharing generously with his time, talents and means. He will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. His teachings and example will live on with his children and grandchildren. We rejoice in his joyful reunion with our mother, his parents, and sisters. We look forward to the day we will be reunited again as a family.
