Margie Parrish Hinton, 83, died on Monday, May 22, 2006, at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Savannah Memorial Gardens in Thomson with Dr. James M. Ramsey, pastor of First Baptist Church in Thomson, officiating.

A native of Carroll County, Georgia, Mrs. Hinton moved to Thomson in 1943, following completion of Cosmetology school in Valdosta. She married Wilton Hinton in 1945, shortly after his return from active duty in World War II, and operated Margie's Beauty Shop until her retirement in 1987. Mr. and Mrs. Hinton were active members of the First Baptist Church, where Mrs. Hinton was a faithful member of the Grace Sunday School class. The couple made their home in Thomson until moving to Milledgeville in 2001.

Survivors include husband Wilton; a brother, James Parrish of Greensboro; a son, Bill Hinton and wife Jill of Milledgeville; a daughter, Ann Hayduk and husband Fred of Wadsworth, Ohio; four grandchildren, Scott Hayduk and wife Sally of Wadworth, Ohio, Jon Hayduk and wife Tavia of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Rebecca Hinton of Athens, and Sky Hinton of Milledgeville; and three great-grandchildren, Tevin, Molly, and Peyton.
