MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Wilton Hinton, age 87 widower of Mrs. Margie Hinton of Milledgeville formerly of Thomson, died Tuesday September 19, 2006 in the Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday September 23, 2006 in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Jim Ramsey pastor of Thomson First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Hinton was a native of Thomson, he was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, serving five years of active duty overseas in the pacific as part of the Thomson National Guard Unit. He retired from the U.S. Postal service, and was a life long member of the Thomson First Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Hinton and his late wife Margie made their home in Thomson until moving to Brantley's Assisted Living facility in Milledgeville in 2001 to be near family. Mr. Hinton was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Margie Parrish Hinton, and is survived by one son, a daughter, 4 grandsons, a granddaughter, 2 great granddaughters, and a great grandson.

The Hinton family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday September 22, 2006 at the funeral home. The family request that remembrances be made in Mr. Hinton's memory to the Thomson First Baptist Church building fund at 253 Jackson Street Thomson, GA 30824.
