Eugenia "Jean" S. Herek, 77, 5428 Claret Drive, Stevens Point, a former wedding caterer, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at St. Michael's Hospital as the result of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (a.l.s.).
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Schaller officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Faustina Room of St. Peter Catholic Church until the services. St. Peter's Rosary Society will combine with the general rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Herek was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Custer, a daughter of the late Walter and Teckla (Wrycza) Gagas Sr.
She was married to Roman Herek on Nov. 24, 1945, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. He died Sept. 6, 1987.
She was married to Raymond Studzinski on July 25, 1998, at St. Joseph Convent. He died Jan. 15, 2002.
For 39 years, she catered many weddings.
She was a member of St. Peter's Rosary Society Rose 10 since 1964.
Survivors include three sons, Ken (Joi), Stevens Point, Larry, Plover, and Gary (Angie), Eagle Lake, Texas; two daughters, Shirley Suchon, Plover, and Rose (Ray) Wanta, Rothschild; one stepdaughter, Marie (Norman) Platta, Custer; three stepsons, Ronald (Darlene) Studzinski and Jerome (Karen) Studzinski, both of Custer; and Marvin Studzinski, DeForest; three sisters, Ramona (Ervin) Little, Custer and Evelyn Fabisiak and Laura Kielpinski, both of Stevens Point; two brothers, Walter (Florence) Gagas Jr. and Edwin (Regina) Gagas, both of Custer; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Frank and Chester Gagas; and four sisters, Verona Hintz, Agnes Dudzik, Angeline Pionkowski and Belvina Michelcamp.
