Mrs. Jacob Bogaard, former resident of Pella, passed away Saturday evening at 6:00 o'clock in Belle Plaine, Iowa, where she had made her home the past three years. She was 46 years old at the time of her death. Her illness was of long duration. The remains were brought here and funeral services were held at the First Reformed church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. A. Haverkamp, officiating. Interment was in Oakwood. Surviving Mrs. Bogaard are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Abe Synhorst, residing southwest of Pella, two brothers and three sisters, namely, Dick Synhorst and John Synhorst, Mrs. Fred Lam, Mrs. Ben Valster and Mrs. Dick Ver Heul, all living in and around Pella. Mrs. Bogaard was a good woman and news of her death is received with genuine sorrow and regret by her many friends who extend sympathy in this sad hour to the bereaved relatives. -Pella Chronicle, February 1, 1934
