Survived by daughters: Patricia Belfield and husband Dennis of Nashville, Tennessee; Gaynel Jensen and husband Scott of Allen, Texas; grandchildren: Jennifer Belfield of San Diego; Benjamin Belfield and wife Sara of Spring Hill, Tennessee; Matthew Jensen of Denton, Texas; Kelly Jensen of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren: Jaxson and Hudson.
Pastor James is a 1936 high school graduate from Rocky Mount, Virginia, also Bridgewater College and Bethany Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. He worked until his retirement as a pastor for the Church of the Brethren serving in Somerset, Pennsylvania; Rockford, Illinois; Middlebury, Indiana; and Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren. James and his wife resided in Rockwood from 1982 to 2008 and then went to live close to their daughter in Nashville.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Paul Liepelt officiating. Interment Mt. Nebo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Somerset Church of the Brethren Bell Choir, 606 Berlin Plank Road, Somerset, PA 15501.
