"Mrs. Ruth Wynette Sorensen, 87, of Beckley, died Sunday, September 17, 2000 in a local health care center of natural causes.
"Born April 18, 1913 in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Rose E. O'Neill Hunnel.
"Mrs. Sorensen was a retired bookkeeper/accountant for Fina Oil Co. and 7-Up Bottling Co. in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a member of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, the ladies of St. Francis and the Shepards Center.
"She was preceded in death by two sons, John and Joseph Sorensen.
"Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Gunnoe and her husband Dan of Beckley; three sons, Ralph Sorensen of Costa Rica, Michael Sorensen of Pensacola, Florida, and Stephen Sorensen of Cape Coral, Florida; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
"Following Mrs. Sorensen's wishes, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
"Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley."
