Joseph Eugene Huiet, Jr., age 95, of Conyers, died Monday, April 17, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006, at Horis A. Ward's Rockdale Chapel at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Nat Long and Rev. Randy Byrd officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Tucker.

A native of Edgefield County, SC, Mr. Huiet worked for the Atlanta Fire Department prior to serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. His working years would allow him to retire from the GA State Labor Department (after 20 years) and then from Williams Brothers Lumber Company (after 15 years). He was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church and E.A. Minor Masonic Lodge #603 F & A.M.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Donna Huiet of Conyers; grandchildren, Shane and Jodie Huiet of Norcross and Dawn and Ray Masque of Covington; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Huiet of Norcross; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Huiet.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Children's Home of Georgia, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Ga 31211. Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, Rockdale Chapel.
