Wilber Johnson 85, died at 12:25 o'clock this afternoon Thursday, June 18, 1964 at the Golden Age Lodge. He was a long time resident of Burlington. Funeral Services will be conducted at Damron's Chapel. Rev. John S. Jones conducted the service. Mrs. Paul Damron soloist sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Old Rugged Cross", accompanied on the organ by Mrs. George Salava. Casket bearers were Myron Watson, Ralph McCrae, Charley Roth, Clarence Gallagher, Frank Paskin and John Fletcher. Interment was in Cola Hill Cemetery.
Wilber F. Johnson son of Christopher and Mary Roberts Johnson, was born September 27, 1878 in Osage County Kansas, near Melvern. He departed this life June 18, 1964 at Burlington, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Mr. Johnson never married and his vocation was always farming. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Anna Glass, Emma Wickham, Effie Mae in infancy and brother Charles Johnson. Left to morn his passing are two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Stewart Torrance, Calif and Mrs. Laura Houser, Wichita. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. George Gallagher of Gridley and Mrs. Claudia Welch, Torrance, Calf. Other relatives and many friend morn his passing.
