Mary E. Johnson was born March 12, 1857 and died July 10, 1910 from a complication of diseases. She was married to C. H. Johnson of Miami County Kansas January 11, 1872. To this union were born seven children one died in infancy, six with her husband live to morn her loss. They are Emma Wickham of Coyville, Chas. E. Johnson of Westphalla, Laura Houser of Wichita. Anna Glass of Morganville and Wilber and Goldie Johnson who live at home. At the age of 25 she was converted and joined the Methodist church and has lived a consistant Christian life ever since. She had been a sufferer from rheumatism for 18 years and an invalid for six years and she was always patient and kind in her suffering. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Palmer Chapel southwest of town and was largely attended.
