This is Jacob's second marriage. I do not know if Rachel had been married prior to this. The union of Jacob and Rachel added ten children to the final total of 16 who called Jacob their father.
Rachel is the daughter of Thomas and Margaret P. (Thompson) Bailey. I have no other information on her parents.

Rachel E. Sedore
Rachel Ellen Bailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duglas Bailey, was born on Nov. 1, 1856, near Bloomington, Illinois, and departed this life on April 26, 1938, at the home of Mrs. Pember at Keosauqua, Iowa, where she was being cared for by her children, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 26 days.
When a child she moved with her parents to Missouri and later to Ottumwa, where she was married to Jacob Sedore on Feb. 14, 1878.
To this union was born eleven children, seven of whom preceded her in death. Her husband and the following children preceded her Mrs. Laura Wilkins, Charlie Sedore, Clara Sedore, Margaret Sedore, William Sedore, Cynthia Sedore and Regenia Sedore.
She is survived by the following children, Aaron Sedore of Bloomington, Iowa; Harvey Harold Sedore of Keosauqua; Mrs. Luella John of Bloomfield and Mrs. Lora Murray of Kahoka, Mo. Also four step (child)ren, Mrs. Francis McGary of Carthage, Mo.; Mrs. Melvina Bogardus, of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Evie Hetz of Kansas City, Mo.; and John Sedore, Ottumwa, Iowa.
She leaves besides those mentioned, 41 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren besides a host of friends and other relatives.
She was a kind and loving neighbor and friend and always ready to help anyone who was in distress.
In early life she united with the Christian church and remained fathful(sp) throughout the remaining years.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Milton, Thursday afternoon, April 28, in charge of the Rev. A.M. Hadley. Interment was in the Milton Sunnyside cemetery. The pall bearers were grandsons.
