Myrta Wyatt Vance, 67, wife of Jason Benjamin Vance, prominent early settler and farmer of this valley, died at her home on July 24, 1940.

She was born on April 22, 1873 in State Center, Iowa, a daughter of H M and Mary Ann Wyatt.

She married Jason Benjamin Vance on November 11, 1894 in Henley, Nebraska.

She had been ill for a number of years. About a year ago they purchased a home in the city and moved in from the farm, which he had operated for many years.

They came to Utah and this valley in 1900 from Nebraska. That was before there was any Tremonton. They have resided her since and have been active in the building up of the valley and community. They are devout Christians of the Baptist Faith and were active members of their church.

Surviving, besides her husband are the following children, Clifford Vance, Mrs Doris Preston, Mrs Ruth Tallman, all of Tremonton; Earl Vance, Loomis, California; and Clarence Vance, Salt Lake City, Utah; also one brother, Walter Wyatt, Tremonton, Utah.

Burial was held in the Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Utah.
