Minnie J Mounts was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Mounts (memorial 21399638) and Catherine Ida Mullens. Benjamin or Frank as he was known died in 1906 in Sullivan County Indiana all children were placed in foster care; Vada, Ora Ellen, Gladys, Roy, Homer, and Minnie. Minnie was the only child not reconciled with her siblings as they did not reconcile with the mother who married twice more. I know this from correspondence with my cousins about Minnie. The family tried to find her but was unable after the Goshorn's changed her name in 1910 and moved to Texas. They stated in their report the Charities board that the mother had threatened to Kidnap the baby and they left for a tour of the south for their health. Since the Mother lived in Hymera where the Goshorn's lived I have no doubt she was a thorn in their side. But since the siblings did not know where or who had taken Minnie they must not of had or wanted contact with the mother since they did not know that the Goshorn's had changed her name and taken her to Texas.

I do not believe they ever adopted Minnie because she was placed in foster care and they sent reports to Indianapolis until 1921 and sent a letter complaining about her behavior in 1919 asking what to do, which I doubt you would do if you had legally adopted the child.

Minnie was born on 08/02/1904 according to foster records placed in home of Goshorn's 12/7/1906. Minnie was born in Pleasantville, Sullivan County Indiana and Benjamin is buried in Bethany Cemetery Sullivan County. Benjamin's father was Samuel Anderson Mounts. All are linked and can be found on findagrave.com. Ben was living in Sullivan County in 1900 but was in Knox County when he died according foster records.
