Andrew Chamberlain (1806-1833) was the next to the youngest son of Jeremiah Chamberlain (1740-1829) and Margaret Carmichael (1765-1821) of Grainger Co., TN. In 1830 he married Mary A. Cardwell (1814-1888). The couple had two children before Andrew's untimely death. He was originally buried in the Chamberlain family cemetery in May Spring, TN. His body was among those removed in the early 1940s for reburial in Martha Sunderland Cem., Hamblen Co., to make way for Cherokee Lake. Andrew is said to have left his heirs a large estate. Upon his death, his father-in-law, Robert Cardwell, was appointed guardian of the two children, Jeremiah M. (Jerry) and Elizabeth Jane.
