VANCE J.R. Reach, age 99, of Vance, died Jan 6, 2008, at Bibb Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel with Rev. Henry Joiner and J.W. Kornegay officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.
Mr. Reach was a farmer and cattleman. He loved his family and his church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie A. Reach, parents, and one great-grandchild, Alana Hiott.
Survivors include his daughters, Marie Strickland (Dwight), Annette Anderson, and Lunnette Hallman (Jimmie); sons, Jerry Reach (Dean), Commodore Reach (Ola Ree), and Frank Reach (Eloyce); sisters, Essie Whitfield and Bertha Pierson; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and 5 step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Reach, Andy Reach, Ricky Strictland, Eli Howard, Ronnie Howard, Johnny, Trey, and Josh Averett,
Junior pallbearers will be Ethan Howard, Eason Hiott, Hunter and Dalton Medders, Jake Crumbie, and Matthew and Andrew Stallman.
