Mrs. Mabel Petty, 48, wife of Dr. R. H. Petty, passed away about 5:30 o'clock this morning at her home hero following an illness of more than a year. Funeral services, will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home, with Rev. G, T. Nesmith, pastor of the Mt. Carroll Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. The Eastern Star chapter will have charge of the services at the grave.

The daughter of Daniel and Susan Poffenberger, she was born in Mt. Carroll May 10, 1888. Mrs. Petty was a past matron of the Mt. Carroll chapter of the Eastern Star, a member of the American Legion auxiliary, the Royal Neighbors and the Methodist Episcopal church. She is survived by her husband, two sons. Richard, attending school in Chicago, William, at home, three sisters, Mrs. William Richter, of Mt. Carroll, Mrs. Noah Wolf, of Wacker, and Mrs. Cora Stickell, of Thomson, and five brothers, Frank, Daniel and Ernest Poffenberger, of Mt.
