Fountain Moffitt Dalby, (age 36) married Mollie A Lumpkin (age 27) on 22 Dec 1870 in Bowie Co, Texas. He was a farmer, livestock man and wheelright. About the time they were married, or shortly before, he purchased 60 acres of land in the Benjamin Booth headright Survey. This land adjoined his father Warren Knight Dalby's homestead and he built a house on it. Fountain and Mollie were the parents of five known children: (1)Gordentia Dalby died in infancy,(2)Alma Q Dalby, (3)Opie D Dalby, (4)Clarence W Dalby, (5)Fountain Maud Dalby. Fountain was living on this 60 acres at the time of his death on 10th April 1879 (and left 5 year old Alma, 3 year old Opie D, 1 year old Clarence W, and 1 month old Fountain Maud.
