Benjamin Bullock Dalby was the fourth son and child of Warren Knight & Lucinda Davis Dalby. They moved from Tennessee to Bowie Co, Texas in 1839. He was educated at McKenzie College in Clarksville, Texas. He spent four years in the Confederate Army and was a Captain in Company K, 11th Tx Cavalry. On 28 Sept 1871 B B Dalby married Bettie Scoggins a music teacher in RRCo, Tx (Book C page 55). Benjamin was a farmer and he and his wife were quite active in church work. They had three daughters: Ella Dalby, Jessie Dalby and Mamie Dalby. He died at Woodland, RRCo, Texas and was buried in the Woodland Cemetery. There was a marker on his grave.
