W. F. Shields, 56, died at his home in the White Rock community Tuesday morning following an extended illness.

Thedeceased (sic) was a native of the Kingston-White Rock section and his life spent in that section where he lived a useful life.

He was married to Miss Dora Bolton in 1901 and she survives him with eight children: Mrs Opal Gay, Mrs. Ruby Carter, Mrs. J. C. Cody and Weldon Shields, all of Greenville; Wayne Shields, Welba and Stella C. Shields, of White Rock and Mrs. Vernon Green, of Hamlin, also by his mother, Mrs. M. V. Shields of Kingston and several grand-children.
