He was born April 4, 1911 in Elwood, a son of Rasmus Peter and Dorothea K. Olsen Hansen.
He married Ona B. Allred on September 14, 1935. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a farmer in his early years in Elwood. He later retired from HFAB in 1976.
He loved gardening and enjoyed sharing his produce with family and neighbors.
He served in many LDS ward and stake organizations. He was also an LDS Temple ordinance worker for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ona, Roy; one daughter, Dorene (Warner) Jeppesen, Roy; five sons, LaVar (Jerry) Hansen, North Ogden; Larry (Wilma) Weese (Hansen) South Ogden; Verl (Saundra) Hansen, South Ogden; C. Brant Hansen, Ogden; Bill (Susan) Hansen, Salem Oregon; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are one brother, Harold Hansen, West Valley, City; three sisters, Carrie Humpherys, Brigham City; Ellen Hawks, West Point; Norma Hanson, Clearfield.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
