She returned shortly after G~Grandpa Fred's death to be with her parents, here.
She married her 2nd husband, Edward C. Colby, on the 21st of March 1897. My Grandma, Gladys was born the 28th of June 1897. She was raised by Ed Colby as his own daughter. He was the only father she knew, and they were very close.
G~Grandma Lydia, and G~Grandpa Ed had 3 children of their own, 2 sons and a daughter. Their 1st son, Jesse L. Colby 1910 ~ 1975 and toddler daughter, Grace E. Colby 1915 ~ 1917 who died before her 2nd birthday, and their 2nd son, Jack R. Colby 1918 ~ 1945 was killed in action in Italy during WW2.
