BURNSVILLE – Shirley Jean Barnes, 65, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She worked for several years at the Tishomingo County Tax Assessor's Office, working at both the old and new courthouses. She also worked for a time as a secretary at Monotech of Mississippi. She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the New Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Ed Kennedy and Bro. Louie Williams officiating. Burial will be in the White Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Pickwick, Tenn. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Bobby M. Barnes of Burnsville; one son, John M. Barnes and his wife, Lee, of Burnsville; two daughters, Angie Wallace and her husband, Mark, of Corinth, and Kellie Crum and her husband, Stacy, of Glen; two brothers, Floyd Smith of Memphis, Tenn., and Elmer Ray Counce of Michie, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby Suffil of Apopka, Fla.; six grandchildren, Brad Guthrie of Nashville, Tenn., Barron Guthrie, 1st Class Petty Officer, Navy, of Jacksonville, Fla., Halie Crum and Marissa Crum, both of Glen, Ryan Wilson and Jessica Wilson, both of Burnsville; one great-grandchild, Greylee Elizabeth Guthrie of Cairo.

Pallbearers will be Greg Kennedy, Jeff Kennedy, Joe Hudson, Bobby Kennedy, Brian Hudson and Greg Adams.

Honorary pallbearers will include Lucian Epperson, Luther Roy Adams, Greg Kennedy, Charlie Crum, Mike Inlow, Ed Kennedy, Elwood Hall, Hick Miller, Mike Nash, Tim Nash and Russell Weathers.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Glen.
