Funeral services for Elmer Ray Counce, 87, of Michie, TN are set for Monday, September 25, 2023 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - East with interment in South Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 25, 2023 from 1-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - East. Minister Stephen Ludlum will officiate the service. Born December 15, 1935 in Fulton, KY, Mr. Counce passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 in Tupelo, MS.
Ray was a retired pipefitter for Reynold's Aluminum in Muscle Shoals, AL for 26 years. He attended Christ's Church at Box Chapel. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. Ray loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, building furniture for his family and friends, watching sports and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Ray is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cornelia George Counce; his children, Mark Counce and wife Charlotte, Toni Randolph and husband Odell, Terrell George and wife Linda, and Dana Holmes and husband Wes; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Williams and husband Jason, Shane Carmon and wife Carly, Jason Randolph and wife Sheree, Katie Woodfin and husband Trey, Caroline Fletcher and husband Jon, Molly Mullins and husband Craig, Andrew Holmes and wife Briley, Zack Holmes and Maggie Howie and husband Mitchell; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Rose Counce; his father, Mark Counce; mother, Blanche Floyd Counce; brothers, Tom Counce, Milton Counce, Dyer Counce, John Counce and Floyd Smith; and his sisters, Ruby Suffill, Florence Allen, Mozelle Carter and Shirley Barnes.
