This memorial is dedicated to Edith Christine Westbrook Peterson.
Although she was married more than once, the last time to Mr. Peterson, it was only her first marriage to Troy Thomas Hicks, Sr., that resulted in the birth of a child, my father, Troy Thomas Hicks, Jr.
She was left motherless as a young girl, but always did the best she knew how. She very much enjoyed her work as a governess, and treasured the photos and memory of many of the children she worked with.
