ANITA DALTON WESTBROOK
She was married to Robert James Westbrook, and together they had six children: Jimmie Mae, Hubert Elvin, Grace, Edith Christine, Robert James, Jr., and Harold Truitt. She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Dalton and Sarah Louise Hampton Dalton, and the story has been passed down in the family that she was a cousin to the infamous Dalton Gang. When my father, who was Edith's son, was in high school, an elderly Emmett Dalton actually paid them a visit at their home in Los Angeles. However, genetic genealogical testing has proven the family has NO GENETIC RELATIONSHIP TO THE DALTON GANG, so it was apparently a mistaken belief.
Anita Dalton died before her time at the age of 36, leaving behind a grieving family who never stopped missing her. After her death, they moved to California to start a new life. Robert, a devoted father and grandfather, never remarried.
MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.
