Funeral services for John Hauff, 83, were held Sept. 14, 1974 at Mason's Funeral Home with Rev. O.W. Eckert officiating. Burial was in the Colome Cemetery.
John George Hauff was born on March 1, 1891 at Hutchinson County, South Dakota. He was the son of Johannes and Marie E. (Leneschmidt) Hauff.
He married Marie Helen Miller on October 3, 1916 at Colome, South Dakota. To this union six children were born.
John is survived by two daughters, Alma (Robert) Mead of Fremont, Neb. and Mary Kay (Dale) Bickel of Spearville, Kan; four sons, Harold of Fremont, Neb, Lloyd of Casper, Wyo, Donald of Hastings and William of Kearney, Neb; two sisters, Anna (Henry) Hafner of Mitchell, SD, Ida Sunding of Ames, Iowa; and four brothers, Carl of Willen, SD, Fred of Annaheim, Calif, Jacob of Rapid City, SD and Walter of Athena, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; and his parents, Johannes and Marie Hauff.
