He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Monie, sisters, Louise, Mrs. Theo Kunz; Alma, Mrs. Wert Sweatman, brothers, Edward "Eddie" Maurer and William "Bill" Maurer.
He is survived by the following: one daughter & spouse, Nancy & Nelson Maenius of Fredericksburg; grandson Tyber Childres of Helotes, Texas; one brother, Henry Maurer of George West, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy, Mrs. William "Bill" Maurer of Kerrville; three brothers-in-law, Robert Hartmann of Fredericksburg, William Hartmann of San Antonio, David & his wife Kay Hartmann of Fredericksburg.
Vigil services will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 P. M. in the chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, with Deacon Patrick Klein officiating.
Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, July 9th, 2011 at 10:00 A. M. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, with Monsignor Enda McKenna officiating.
Graveside services and Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Fredericksburg.
Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in his memory to the St. Mary's Capitol Campaign Fund or to the charity of their choice.
