Henry F. Maurer was born in San Antonio, TX on May 20, 1917.

Henry joined his beloved wife Hazel F. Maurer in death on November 22, 2015.

Henry and Hazel shared their life together for 58 years.

Henry was a WWII Veteran.

He was self-employed and worked for Rocksprings ISD and Kerrville ISD in various capacities including mechanic, transportation, central receiving, and maintenance supervisor.

He was very gifted and shared his talents with many.

Henry was a kind and gentle man who had great love for his family.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He enjoyed spending time tinkering in his woodshop and fishing.

Henry is survived by his son Dennis F. Maurer and wife Carol, granddaughters Shauna (Sean) Skaggs and Denise (Edmund) Garza, great-grandchildren Kali, Kullen, Klein Skaggs, Isabella Gavin and Claire Garza.

Henry was also preceded in death by daughter Mary Beth Maurer at infancy, and by sisters Louise Kunz, Alma Sweatman; brothers Edward, William and Erwin Maurer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 8:30 am at St. George Catholic Church in George West, TX. With a Rosary to begin at 9:30 am and Funeral Mass to begin at 10:30 am. Following there will be a graveside service at Mission Burial Park North 20900 IH 10 West San Antonio, TX 78257 at 3:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Sean Skaggs, Edmund Garza, Maxi Roessler, Jason Roessler, Larry Fritz and Lynn Whitaker.
