Frances Elizabeth BUMGARDNER, 79, of Cassville, died at 10 p.m. Friday,
July 7, 2000, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Oct. 1,
1920, in Three Springs, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Lillie
Mae (Rupert) Grissinger. She was married to Mitchel E. Bumgardner June
30, 1949. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1992. Surviving are six
children: George E. Bumgardner, Southport, N.C.; Leroy Bumgardner,
McConnellstown; Mary Bumgardner, Cassville; David F. Bumgardner,
Duncansville; Robert P. Bumgardner, Huntingdon; and Ruth Blanchard,
Clarendon, N.C. There are eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Seven siblings survive: Ellen Naugle, Mapleton; Blanche Grissinger,
Huntingdon; Rella Blair, Mount Union; Harold Grissinger, Levittown; Erma
Baer, Tabor City, N.C.; Beatrice Sandsmark, New Carlisle, Ind.; and
Irvin Grissinger, Waynesboro. One infant brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bumgardner was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, at the Robert
I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, with Pastor John Traxler
officiating. Interment will be made in the Trough Creek Valley Baptist
Cemetery, Calvin, R.D. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 until
9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service on Tuesday
