Rites Held Monday For C. N. Angel

Charles N. Angel, 50, World War I veteran and member of the Franklin American Legion post, was buried Monday afternoon at Bethel Methodist church cemetery, following a service in the church.

His death had come unexpectedly when he suffered a heart attack last Saturday afternoon.

The Rev. D. P. Grant conducted the funeral services and members of the Franklin Legion post assisted in giving Mr. Angel a military burial.

Pallbearers were Paul Nave, Harold Enloe, Bob Porter, Erwin Patton, Arvil Parker, and Owen Ammons, all Leginnaires.

Honorary pallbearers were Lon Dalton, Jess Thomas, Tom Moss, Frank Reece, Tom Bryson, Boyce Hall, J. E. Jennings, and Frank Cabe, all comrades of Mr. Angel in the first World War.

Paul Plemmons served as bugler and sounded “Taps” at the graveside.

Mr. Angel, a farmer of the Cullasaja section, is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie McConnell Angel; four sisters, Mrs. J. T. Jennings, Mrs. Mattie Daves, and Mrs. Mamie Howell, all of Franklin, and Mrs. Frank Wooten, of Cullasaja; and three brothers, Frank Angel, of Cullasaja, Dave Angel, of Franklin, and Robert Angel, of Cuthbert, Ga.

Arrangements were under the direction of Potts funeral home.
