The Franklin Press, April 18, 1957:

Mrs. Mary Jane Angel Howell, 75, of Franklin, Route 2, died Wednesday of last week at 6 p. m. at the home of her niece, Mrs. Wiley Ashe, and Mr. Ashe, of Franklin, Route 2. She had been ill two weeks.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mrs. Addie Miller Angel and was born Aug. 9, 1881, in Macon County. May 5, 1929, she married Luke Howell, of this county. He has been dead several years. Mrs. Howell was a member of Louisa Chapel Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 3 p. m. at Clark's Chapel with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating ministers were the Rev. R. L. Poindexter, the Rev. Fred Sorrells, and the Rev. John Goforth.

Pallbearers were Tom Jennings, Harry Mashburn, Roy Mashburn, John Angel, Grover Sorrells, and Grover Angel.

Surviving are two brothers, Dave Angel, of Franklin, and Robert Angel, of Cuthbert, Ga.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Daves and Mrs. Frank Wooten, both of Franklin.
