Susie E. Pickens
Susie Elizabeth Pickens, 58, of Edina, died at two o'clock Friday morning, December 13, 1985, in Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon (December 15, 1985) in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. The Rev. Luke Turnbough of Edina, conducted the services. Musical selections were "One Day At a Time" and "Amazing Grace." Burial was in the Harmony Cemetery, southeast of Edina.
The daughter of Charles and Beulah Kaylor Heimer, she was born August 10, 1927, in Knox County. In 1942, she was married to Thomas Donaldson Parton. Later she was married to Samuel Pickens who preceded her in death on July 15, 1974. Also preceded her in death were her parents; one son, Daniel Parton on November 9, 1981 and an infant sister.
Surviving are one son, Joseph William Parton of West Burlington, Ia.; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth Rose) Stull of Edina and Mrs. Jerry (Donna) Schrage of Hurdland; three brothers, William Heimer of Newark, Edwin ("Pete") Heimer of Edina and Kenneth Heimer of LaBelle; three sisters, Ellen Whitman of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Edwin (Mabel) Small of Bethel and Mrs. Calvin(Erma) Robertson of Novelty; two half-brothers, Richard Heimer of Kansas City and Charles Heimer of Moberly; two half-sisters, Norma Heimer of Kansas City and Minnie Heimer of Palmyra; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Pickens was a life-long resident of Knox County. She resided in the Hedge City community before moving to Edina several years ago.
