Obituary for Mrs. Rilla Inez Weaver Free

Mrs. Rilla Inez Weaver Free, age 92 of Taylorsville passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012.

Mrs. Free was born on January 29, 1920 in Haralson County, daughter of the late Dock Weaver and the late Phoebe Lewis Weaver. She was a homemaker who loved cooking and baking and was well known for her tea cakes and chocolate pound cakes. Mrs. Free was a former employee of Spring City Knitting and was a member of the Floyd Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Wilber D. "W.D." Free on August 26,1965; a son, Mr. Raiford Earl Free; three sisters, Mrs. Clora Bradley, Mrs. Evelyn Boatner and Mrs. Arzilla Robinson; and three brothers, Mr. Raymond Weaver, Mr. Martin Weaver and Mr. B. F. Weaver.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Bob Bibbings of Kingston; a son, Robert L. Free of Taylorsville; a brother, James R. "J.R." Weaver of Tucker; and a grandson, Jason Beaver.

Funeral services for Mrs. Free will be held on Sunday, July 15th at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Fisher officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Andy Butler, John Johnson, Leroy Shepherd, Gerald Free, Eddie Garrett and Mike Beaver. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, July 14th between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
