John B. Mayrose

Funeral services were held Saturday at 9:30 at St. Joseph's church for John B. Mayrose, well-known business man who passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital on Thursday, following a stroke which he suffered Monday. Msgnr. J. D. Fisch officiated at the service, an interment was in St. Mary's cemetery at Remsen.

John B. Mayrose was born June 28, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mayrose, and was 65 years, 6 months and 17 days old at the time of his death. On June 28, 1910, he was united in marriage with Josephine Ernster at Remsen, Mr. Mayrose was an implement dealer in Remsen and Le Mars, and had the Oliver Agency for this territory for 28 years. He moved to Le Mars with his family and since that time had been active in the management of his business. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine, and nine children, Cletus, Sioux City; Cynthia, Le Mars; Mrs. George Gengler, Sioux City; Mrs. Anthony Rueter, Madison, Wisc.; Leo, Chicago; and Francis, Harold, John and Marjorie, all of Le Mars. He is also survived by five brothers Frank, Le Mars; Edward, Woodward; and Adolph, Albert and Isador, Remsen; 3 sisters, Mrs. Barney Bornhorst, Remsen; Mrs. Ann Costello, Sioux City; and Miss Mary Mayrose, Le Mars, and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lewis, a sister, Mrs. John Thill, and a brother, Joseph Mayrose.
