Funeral services for Mr. Paul R. May, 63, of Allons, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2001, from the chapel of Needham-Storey-Whampner Funeral Home in Marion, IN, with Rev. Howard May officiating. Burial was in the Grant Memorial Cemetery in Marion, withNeedham-Storey-Whamp-ner Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. May died Monday, June 4, 2001, at his home in the Willow Grove Community. He worked several years in the eastern United States, then settled in Marion in the 1960�s and retired from General Motors in 1990. He and his wife moved to Allons in 1993. He served with the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves. The Honor Guard presented Mrs. May with the American Flag in recognition of Mr. Mays service to his country.
Born October 13, 1937, he was the son of the late Rev. Charles and Maggie (Chinn) May. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth May and Frances May; and a son, Paul R. May Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Jan May, Allons; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula Reisann and Mike Cox, Richmond, IN; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tim and Leslie May and Greg and Christy Walters, all of Marion, and Todd May, Richmond; two brothers, Rev. Howard May, Alabama, and Charles May, North Carolina; two sisters, Mabel Barker, North Carolina, and Laura Lee Griggs, Georgia; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were David Liddick, Mike Smith, Bob Tucker, Marcus Cannon, David Woodward, and Johnny Poling.
