Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Mae McCubbin, 57 years of age, were held Sunday afternoon, September 26 at 2:30 p.m. from the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, with Rev. Harvey Morrison in charge, assisted by Rev. E. P. Gast. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
Mrs. McCubbin, daughter of Nancy E. Close, city, and the late C. L. Close, died Friday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rosary Hospital after a year's illness. She had been in the hospital a week in a serious condition. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to J. L. McCubbin, Nov. 29, 1906 and to this union three daughters and one son were born. Surviving are: husband; one son, Earl and one daughter, Ethel Wilson; two grandchildren, Billy Burke Wilcoxson and Lana Carol Wilson; mother, Mrs. Nancy E. Close; sisters, Mrs. Anna Foster of Louisville and Mrs. J. W. McCubbin of Gabe.
