Luís is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Quintana, his children, Luís M. Quintana and his wife, Sandy, Frank M. Quintana and Joanne Montoya, Germaine M. Quintana and Jennifer A. Quintana, sisters, Conferina Chávez of Las Vegas, NM and Tomasita Vigil of Hereford, TX, mother-in-law, Virginia Córdova of Las Vegas, NM, grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua, Amber, Christopher, Brian, Ben, Brianna and Marissa Quintana and Meghan Sierra, great-grandson, Ezekiel Quintana, special pet companion, Oscar "Little Boy" and many brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Luís was preceded in death by his parents, Petrolino and Fransicquita Quintana, brothers, Petrolino Jr., Transito, Santiago and Eusebio and sisters, Dorinda Riley, Sofia Maldonado, Pola Martíinez and Frances Quintana.
Luís was a member of the Catholic Church.
Luis was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict with the B-Battery 78th AAA Gun Batalion.
His hobbies included wood working, fishing, camping, gardening and especially being with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, Albuquerque, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Harry Beare. Final visitation will be on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Joel Garner. Committal Service will be held at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at 11:30 a.m. Honorary Pallbearer will be his son, Luís M. Quintana.
