Obituary from the "Leader-Telegram" of Eau Claire, Wisconsin dated 24 Oct 1944:
Mrs. Elson Babcock
Dies at Age of 80
Mrs. Elson A. Babcock [sic], the former Mary Pettis, died at home in the town of Fairchild Sunday morning at 5 a.m. at the age of 80 years.
She is survived by her husband, and two daughters, Mrs. Richard Gilbert of Altoona, and Mrs. Murle Krathwohl of Eau Claire.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1:30 from the Rickard Funeral home and the Methodist Church in Fall Creek, the Rev. Mr. Smith officiating. Interment will be in the East Side cemetery at Augusta.
Friends may call the funeral home until time of funeral.
