Fred Worth Kendrick is the son of Fredrick Moss Kendrick (1870-1951) and Rilla Dell Strain (1874-1965). He married Johnnie Ruth Green (1909-1992) on 1 December 1925 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Fred Worth Kendrick "Gussie," 86, of 3515 13th Ave., died Sunday in a local hospital. Owner and operator of Past Time Barber Shop on Market Street for the past 61 years, the name was recently changed to Kendrick Barber Shop, and since his retirement, he had been working in an East Lake barber shop. He was a member of the Barber's Union and East Lake United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Ruth Green Kendrick; daughter, Mrs. John Hill; son, Lebron Kendrick; five brothers, Virgil, Raymond, Elmo, Ralph and R. L. Kendrick; three sisters, Eva Tomlin, Mauda Dover and Winnie Curtner, all of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chattanooga Memorial Park with the Rev. Dane Morehead officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and from noon until the hour of service Tuesday at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
