"FUNERAL SERVICES HELD JAN 20 FOR PIONEER LADY - Funeral services were held last Friday, January 20, for the late Mrs. Viola Belle Kerner, wife of Mr. Frank J. Kerner of Stanmore, who passed away in a Claresholm Nursing Home January 16 at the age of 69 years.

Mrs. Kerner was born in Oblong, Illinois and was united in marriage to Frank Joseph Kerner, May 28, 1913 in Robinson, Illinois. The couple came to the Stanmore district in the fall of 1915.

Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, Millard and William, Stanmore; James, Hanna; Albert, North Surrey, B.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Emma Schultheis, Hanna; Mrs. E. (Daisy) Borrow, Williams Lake, B.C.; Mrs. M. (Sylvia) Chidley, Scapa; Mrs. B. (Mary) Chidley, Stettler; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters residing in Illinois.

Rev. John Moules officiated at services held from First United Church. Interment followed in the Hanna Cemetery under direction of the Hanna Funeral Home."
