Wallace William Haskell, son of Moses and Melvina Haskell was born January 27, 1876 at Oskaloosa, IA and passed away from this life in the Lewellen Hospital, January 1, 1953, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 5 days.

His early years were spent in eastern Nebraska where he was united in marriage to Mary Little of Lincoln. To this union was born 4 children, namely Inez, James, Helen, and Claude, the latter passed away as a small child.

He and his family moved to Garden County in 1916 where he was engaged in farming until 5 years ago when he retired and moved to Chappell.

He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, a son, James Haskell of Lodge Pole, 2 daughters Mrs. Walter Wellsandt of Lodge Pole, and Mrs. Harry Newberg of Oshkosh, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and one brother Benjamin Haskell of Fairbury, NE, besides a host of friends and more distant relatives who will all remember him as a man of temperate habits and kindly, honest, and upright character.
Funeral services were held at Kowanda Church on Monday, January 5, 1953 and interment was in the family burial plot at that place.
